On 14 November 2025, the U.S. government issued an Executive Order (EO) modifying the scope of reciprocal tariffs on certain agricultural products. Under this directive, several agricultural items will no longer be subject to the 19% reciprocal tariff when entering the U.S. market. Newly exempted products include, among others, coconut products, bananas, pineapples and pineapple products, dried tropical fruits, and coffee.
The updated tariff rules apply to goods that entered for consumption in the U.S. beginning at 12:01 a.m. (EST) on 13 November 2025. If duties were already paid on goods that meet the effectivity date and are now exempt under the new EO, refunds may be processed in accordance with U.S. law and standard U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) procedures.
Exporters are advised to coordinate closely with their U.S. importers or customs brokers to confirm tariff treatment and determine whether recent shipments may qualify for exemption or refund.
