The Collegium of the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan approved the “Phytosanitary norms and rules on regulated articles imported into and transited through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan” through Decision No. 41, dated 26 December 2023.
The regulation established phytosanitary requirements for materials imported and transited through/re-exported from Azerbaijan to prevent the introduction and spread of harmful organisms from other countries. As a result, all products subject to phytosanitary control and exported to, transited through/re-exported from Azerbaijan must now be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate that meets the new requirements.
The DTI-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) strongly advises Philippine exporters to Azerbaijan to work closely with their importers to ensure compliance with the new regulation.
